Hi Guys,

I have yet another problem  . I am using the multiple sub template (4 menu) and want one as an FAQs section. To make the questions stand out from the answers in the FAQs, I have rendered the text as HTML. It works fine, with the questions highlighted in orange and the text in grey and appears to be scrolling correctly. My problem now is with the MAIN template.

In order to get the rendered HTML text to appear in the scroller, I am having to disable the "mask off stage objects" in the export settings, otherwise the text is completely invisible. By unchecking the mask off stage objects, it unfortunately reveals all the sections/pages entering from the left hand side of the main template area. "Exiting" sections/pages sit just to the side of the main template area and are still visible on the right hand.

How can I get around this problem? Wolf, I am looking in your direction. If you solve it, I'll put you on my Christmas card list lol

Thanks in advance!!

...why do you have to "disable mask off stage objects"?
Just render the text as HTML and bingo - e.g...
(if you can't see any text, you probably made a mistake in your HTML coding)

Hi Wolf,

I have absolutely no idea why disabling the "mask off stage objects" in the main.swf file would have any effect on the HTML rendered text in the section5.swf but, it definitely does. With it enabled, I cannot see the HTML rendered text. With it disabled, the HMTL rendered text displays as normal.

I have tested the HMTL code in an online tester and its all appearing as normal. Also, if the code was incorrect, it wouldn't display when then "mask off stage objects" is disabled but, when I do disable it, I can view the rendered HTML text - the only problem being that I can see all the pages on the left and right of the site.

I have even gone so far as deleting all text apart from a simple <b> Frequently Asked Questions </b> and its STILL won't display the HMTL rendered text when I test the site via the index.html file. I've also started the section again from scratch in case I accidentally changed something or deleted something but, to no avail. I have literally tried everything I can think of and the damn thing doesn't seem to want to work!

...well, I can not reproduce this - I've enabled the HTML render and did not disable the "mask off stage objects" and it works fine here http://wolfgross.com/216/ - you can see the text in blue in the first section and all other sections work OK as well.

...I've just checked out "main" and as default the "mask off stage objects" is not ticked - so I don't know what is going on with your template, as you can see the one I've uploaded works fine - it might be an idea to get a fresh copy and start again.

Hi Wolf,

I downloaded the file you uploaded and renamed it section5. I swapped the file with one I had in the upload folder. A weird thing happened. The section5 template loaded on the main template, without it being clicked on! I also couldn't see the HTML rendered text either. Something pretty odd is going on.

I think I will just start again from scratch with a fresh copy. Hopefully that will sort the problem out.

Thanks for the help though. It is appreciated!

...it also might be a good idea to upgrade your SWiSH Max2 to the last released version 2009.11.30.

Hi Wolf,

I updated to the latest version. Its still not solved the problem so I will start again from scratch. Maybe I accidentally changed something while I was trying to refamilarize myself with SwishMax 2.

Back to the drawing board I go lol :(

Hi

Did you ever get a result on this as I'm having the same problem when rendered as HTML text.

Hi Wolf,

I'm using Swishmax 3 and when I render as text as html and preview in browser I don't see the text in the scroller and I am exporting greater than swf5 and the tags are correct and yes I have seen your 216 example so I wondered if something else had been found.

Regards
Barry
