Been doing a little work with the SWFAddress along with the SWFObject,
and converting it for use with SwishMax2.
I have had some success and would like to know what you think,
and if you'd like to help me polish this thing up for use with SM2.

Original Flash files:

My SwishMax2 demo:

Deeplink to the About page:

note:
Just so you know, I think this doesn't work on the local drive.
It seems for some reason, that it needs to be online to work as it should.

You need to change your browser security settings
to be capable to test localy
that's easy

I know of what you speak, and made those adjustments a long time ago.
Had the same trouble with the old old Robert Penner example
I used a variation of the Penner example on my site, and the Carmex site
and to test it locally, I had to make those changes. I kindof think this is something different, though I am not entirely sure what the difference is...

May, you're the greatest!!! I've been working on SWFaddress "workaround" for almost a month now, little success but not all the way. I was trying to do it using old SM(1). So I got to ask you, do you think it can be done in SM(1)? I'm purchasing SM2 really soon so this file will help me a lot and I'd like to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!.
I cannot open SM2 'cause the trial expired so can you tell me how you managed to work around classes? The older SWFaddress (v1.1) did not use classes, that is the one I tried to fix working with SM(1).
Wonderful job!!!

Since I posted this SM2 version, I have been trying to hork up...errr... create a SM1 version.
It doesn't work, and I do not know why.
It could be that the flash.external.ExternalInterface is incompatible with SM1, but I am not sure.

Sorry...

Guess that's just one more good reason to upgrade to SM2, huh?

Yep I guess that's it!
import flash.external.*; gave me the headache. I was sure the script was good, but the one I wrote was not :(
Well the purchase is gonna happen for sure, it's just a matter of time.

Actually, that bit was the easiest but alas, it still does not work.
You are welcome to take what I have started in SM1, and see if you
or someone else can get it to work.

Well, I don't really know how to thank you. If I make it work you'll be the first one to know :)
And if, as you said, externalinterface was the easiest I don't see a problem why my sample of SWFaddress in SM wouldn't work.
Thanks again!

Well, looks like our script is almost identical. We also have the same problems. Doesn't work if the movie is embed in browser. Makes me think it's a Javascript thing, SWFaddress.js not read correctly or something.
Well, I'm gonna play with it for a couple of weeks and see if I can get it to work...at least until I get SM2 :) Can't wait for that day to come.

Thanks G :P
I am happy with it, and I think(hope) some will find it useful.

Bojko:
As to the SM1 version, if any can get it to work let us know, and post it.

As SM2 is to be the end all and be all of the SwishMax world, I don't think
it will be all that big a deal if it never works in SM1. I am totally impressed
with SM2, and how it has grown up so much and so well from SM1, and Swish2
and Swish before that. I am glad I got to witness this growth over the years.

The first zip file in this thread works fine.
SwishMax_SWFAddress.zip

We were talking about this 2nd zip file titled NOT_WORKING_SwishMax1_SWFAddress.zip :
http://forums.swishzone.com/index.php?show...t=0#entry227909
This is for deeplinking, and browser back/forward/refresh button functionality.

For some reason, this script doesn't work in SM1
I do not know why, but there it is.
It could be that the flash.external.ExternalInterface is incompatible with SM1, but I am not sure.

Hi there.

I had a look at Carmex site. Is really nice. I am interested in the scroller you made there. Is that a code that you can share with us?

Job Well Done!
