The 3 slider examples, are 100% scripted masks, and
the SM1 source for those can be found on these forums.
The 6-pack are time line masks. When SM2 is out of beta,
I will be ready to supply both locked, and unlocked components
in a single download. I wanted to find out more about how
well the lock works, on these first ones, and to give me time
to work out the bugs, before I release a final unlocked version.

Any examples on how the use of classes and initclips will be implemented in Max2?

So far Max2 looks promising.

Keep up the hard work

Drone: Have a look at the attached file it's an animated blur component, place it in your components folder, then drag it from the components panel to the stage and replace the contents of the movie clip with whatever it is you want to blur. The blur can be tweeked using the basic parameters of the component on the components parameters panel.

Hi:

I hate to sound really stupid, but I downloaded and installed the filter components and I watched the tutorial video several times. I did exactly what the video talks about (it isn't rocket science either.) My results, however, don't show up as yours do in the tutorial video. What am I missing? My sample file is attached.

Thanks!

And the show begins!!

I’d like to post one of the first component packs. Users will be able to both use the components as well as learn from them I hope. They are relatively basic in design but have come in quite handy for myself...

This set will put a healthy group of Flash filters just a drag and drop away :) Be sure to look at the structure of the components in the "author component" dialog to get an idea of how to put together some basic working components for yourself, these are intentionally uncomplicated for that reason.

shadow and other filters
require swf8
so you need to set the export movie to swf8 or 9
(and test in flash player 8 or above)

Well, that was a fast reply! Thanks. I just tested it and it works great. I guess I mised that little detail somewhere along the way.

Regards,

Len

Hi Len,

You've already got your fix but I think this link might be in order. I can't edit my initial post at the beginning of this thread to add this link So I figure posting it here anyways might help others.

If someone on the SZ team could possibly take this link and add it to my initial post for the filters component pack that should help too.

(Feel free to delete this post if you add the link to the original it will serve no purpose after that aside from thread clutter)

Makes good sense to mention that fact. I'm using the filter components right now to finish off a really cool photo gallery. I'll post it to the samples topic when it's done before the weekend is out. If you'd like a sneak preview, send me an email and I'll show you what I've got so far. I'm not allowed to message you directly from the forum. You're in New Hampshire, right? I'm in California.

Hi all:

I downloaded the Beta version of MAX2 yesterday and decided to play around with it. I've been meaning to create my "ideal" photo gallery for awhile so I took it upon myself to do just that. Here's what I came up with:

1) I looked for and couldn't find a thumbnail scroller that was an array as opposed to a single column or row. Some people have dozens of photos to show and the vertical or horizontal thumbnails just don't work out well for them. So, I created my own matrix of scrolling thumbs.

2) The thumbnail scroller in my sample is loaded upon entering the page. It's small in file size which means I can load several thumbnail scroller windows onto the same page if I need to with little time to load.

3) Each thumbnail pulls photos in from outside of the main page so they aren't stored in the main page to bog it down.

4) The photos are auto-centered on the main page according to size so I don't have to mess with positioning each one.

5) The overall design of the page is what I would call "minimalistic" because I don't like a lot of color to interfere with the photo colors. It's a matter of choice I guess.

6) I'd like to thank Anthony Rocha for his component filter contributions. They add a lot to the look of the pages!

So, here's the link. Please email me with your comments or suggestions for improvement. It's still a work in progress: http://www.amazingwe...m/PhotoGallery/

(I could NOT get the email link to work because I wanted to be able to provide an email link to the photographer. Any suggestions??)
