I need to allow my viewers to make credit card donations through my site. What is the technical name for this and what do I have to do to make this available to everyone who visits my site?

What do i need to put on my site to allow visitors to make credit card transactions? I want to allow for donations to be made. I am very new to this. Is it as simple as adding a link or is it more complicated than that?

...I'll move this with your other posts in forum for site 82 "Vinyl" - also if some of the older sites are done with SWiSH2 - you are still using SWiSHmax to edit them.
